Oh Santa Clarita

July 30, 2012

Hello!

My goodness is Santa Clarita feel like a completly different mission than I was in down there in Canoga Park. My area is called Canyon Country. Let me tell you....it feels huge compared to my little mile by a mile and a half area on bici :-) Either way, I'm trying to adapt, and it is super nice. The first few days I think I was just in like a culture shock haha and I didn't know what to do. Crazy. I feel so spoiled in a car. Honestly. =) We have been teaching a ton and it is awesome!!!! I don't think I'll be knocking very many doors here. I never thought that would happen. Most if not all the people we teach here are referals. It's amazing. We commited someone to baptism last week and it was such a sweet experience to have her light up when we asked her. The work is going very well! :-)

Meet my companion Hna Higley! She is the best. She is exactly like me...it's kinda creepy sometimes because she talk the same way...in english...and we just look at each other sometimes and say, "Did that just happen?" Haha it wonderful! We laugh so much. She is the sweetest girl ever. She is from Windover, UT...she says it's basically Navada. Anyway, we are having a ton of fun together and the transfer already feel like it's flying. I'm excited to see what I learn here from the ward, the area, the people, and especially my companion. I feel deeply blessed.  Live is so GooD.

I was thinking about something this week. Agency requires a choice. That means that there has to be opposition in all things. That means there is good and bad. If we didn't have opposition, we would never have to choose...therefore NEVER grow. We would never be able to grow and become more like our Savior who is Perfect. I know all of you probably already knew that, but after pondering about it, it impacted me in a way I never thought of before. Choose the Right. Jesus died for us, we should live for Him.

I loved reading Alma 23, especially verse 6. Talk about true conversion. I love the scriptures. Too bad many feel they don't have time to wipe the dust of them and read them. They help us. It actually works! It's not a false advertisement. =) Promise.

Mom has the missionaries that baptized you ever keep in contact? Just curious.

The zone I am in know is English/Spanish...so everything happens in english...it was really weird...but that means you pray in english and I haven't done that...for like 6 months haha It's really different than in the Valley and I just need to adjust. We played volibol this morning as a zone in the sand and it was really fun. Am I going to be sore tomorrow? Yes. Was that my choice? Yes. Do I get to suffer the consequences? Yes. Do I love my life? Yes. Wonderful.

My mama hna Busch went home last week to ID. I love her to death. She will do great things.

My email time will still be 9...just today we played vball in the morning so that's why I'm late.

I love this gospel. The more I learn...the More I WANT to learn. When the espiritu teaches me, I am able to make many more connections than I'd ever make on my own. It's such a blessed gift that God left us with to be able to be guided back to him. When we understand how to use such a gift, miracles are seen.

I love you all and I hope you have a fantastic week!!

Con amor, Hna Argüello

ps. Padres, the couple in the fast food restaurant are members in our ward. Do they remind you of two people?
