God calmed a storming sea; God calmed a mortified heart.

Sept 3, 2012

My goodness, look where the times has gone...already in Sept! Yet I feel like nothing is changing haha. Oh We had a week that I will never forget. I am so grateful for the spirit which teaches me and enlightens my mind so I can understand things like I never knew I could or would. What a blessing it is to be able to get to know the gospel in such an indepth level. After my mission I know scripture study won't exactly be the same, but when you receive so many answers to prayers, you never want to go a day without.

First off, transfers are now different. If you get transfered they will tell you, you are, but you won't know where. You will no longer be transfered on Monday, but Thursday. Every missionary getting transfered will meet at one building in the morning, and change companions. Lucky for me....my whole district is staying together! So another 6 weeks with hna Higley. That's a plus. 3/4ths of the mission is getting transfered.

Hna Zepeda....is training in...ENGLISH!!! They are pulling two elders out and putting two sisters in...her and the sister she will train! ahhhh! She is freaking out. She called me and was like, "hna you have seen my door contact in english how am I suppoed to train!?!?!" She persued to tell me everything on her shoulders anad mind...and I naturally tried to help her. It ened better than when she called. It's her birthday present I told her hahaha.

The two miracles I want to talk about today. The first one blows my mind. Hna Paez was mortified of water and that was what was stopping her from being baptized. When we brought it up 5 weeks ago, even talking about going down into the water made her start sweating. For the past 4 weeks or so, we have been focusing on faith while teaching so that she could build it up to get baptized. The spirit worked through us, and this last tuesday, she said she would get baptized! We set it for the 16th. That tuesday. Then on Thursday, we asked if she would want to do it on the 9th. She said yes, the soon the better. So then on friday, the other elders in our district was having a baptism, so we went to hna's house to ask her if she wanted to get baptized this sunday. SHE SAID YES! She smiled!!! On sat, she had her interview, and on sunday she was baptized. God brought peace to her heart. After she got of of the water I said, "How do you feel?" She said, "Muy bien. (so good), Thanks for showing me how to walk." I told her, "You are already starting to run." It was a beautiful experience for her, and for me. Her husband is right behind her, he just needs a little bit more time. They are already on pg 300 in the book of mormon! The Second miracle, is Naomi. We knocked into her because we have 30 mins before a cita. She is 16 and said we could go back. last week we did. She loved it. For the 2nd cita, she had already read the chapter left, had questions and was ready to learn more. We taught the plan of salvation and how we weren't just put on this earth, but that there are reasons. At the end of the lesson she thanked us and started bawling. She said she was just so grateful to know that she was loved enough that there are reasons for her to be here. In her prayers she thanked god for sending us on our missions to spefically teach her what she learned that day. Obviously knowing me, I couldn't help but tear up. It was an amazing experience, and a memorable feeling. God works in mysterious ways, but we must remember that His ways and thoughts are higher than our own. If we don't understand something, all we have to do is ask Him.

Hope you all have a great labor day!
Love, Hna Argüello
