God Chastens Those He Loves.

Hello!!!

Well this is going to be a shorter one, but just know that I lovvvvvved this week! It was su eventful and Hna Vila and I are taking our calling to a great level. God is helping up and continues to prepare us with each thing we need to do here in the mission with the 18 sisters we are over. They are AMAZING. WE seriously have the greatest sister missionaries, pues missionare in general :-) I love them all so much.

Soemthing that I have been learing on the exchanges we have had is that God puts us in places or have us do things that might seem forgien to us at the beginning, but as we trust him and pray that he brings to us what we need, He does. God loves us so He gives us trials. The greatest lesson learned this transfer thus far is that Faith and trust in God fix everything. It's true. Believe it. I know that there are so many things that we as missionaries do well, but when God is leading that way, we do it so much better.

 I love this scripture Psalms 40:1, 4
"I awaited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry."
" Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust"

That was just a thought.

Another, "I'm a convert." We should all be able to say that, and if we can't, we need to work to be able to say that because it will completly change our lives. As we live our testimonies, we become even more converted. We face trials with faith and trust in God, and we are willing to accept whatever is put in our path. It's a process. That is why we should want to be learner for life, so that we can continue to progress. Thinking about it now, the day we stand in front of God to be judged, the only thing we will have are our testimonies, and knowledge.  I still have a ton to learn, but because of my mission, my life is on a whole different path and I couldn't be happier.

We need to Enjoy and endure to the end :-) Life is worth living well don'tcha think?

I love you all!!! Pray for all the missionaries coming out...our whole mission will be training! There are already missionaries double training!!

Love,
Hna Arguello

I've been transfered.

Hello!!

I am now in North Hollywood 5th. I have been called to be a Sister Training Leader, which is Historic!!! This is the first time the Missionary department will be implementing this leadership position for sister missionaries. Before the only leadership was being a trainer. President has called me and my new companion, Hna Vila, to open a new area on car, and be sister training leaders over 18 sisters here in the valley. I think President said we have the largest stewardship and have to conduct exchanges with all of them. We are packing them all in so we have 9 exchanges that will take place. We are planning, planning, planning!! This week we will be implementing all our plans!! YAY!! We are supser excited because God called us to this position and that must mean that He knows somehting that i don't! haha
I AM STOKED!!

Okay so I got to call home yesterday yay!!! But now this will be short. I am so happy to be able to have this calling and I know this transfer IS going to refine me. Trust me, so here we go!!! Actually it's already started!

OHHH President also said, "There is no male equivalent to a visiting teacher it is that important." NEAT huh?!?!

Please pray for me and share the gospel!

All my love!
Hna Arguello

P.s. Please send all packages to the office...but my new address is:

A New Era in the Church of Christ

Hello!
ADVICE: Don't yawn, or smile when riding a bike, it's a great landing place for bugs. Also, when your skirt gets stuck in the tire of your bike, make sure you have a sewing kit.
Alright so as I write this I am very wet. It rained all night and is still raining. Haha can't you just see me now riding my Pixie in the rain getting spalshed by cars and getting hit in the face by big drops of water. Haha my face is like all awkward looking and wet. It's sooo much fun, and funny! Honestly, people HAVE to think we are crazy. Our maintaince man from our complex was like "NO! Don't go out! it's not fair" hahaha it was funny. Nothing stops us. Anyway it's been a blast on my bike pixie. She's done me good....
Now for the news. I have to say goodbye to pixie...and HELLO to CAR!!!!! hahaha we have transfers tomorrow and all I know is that I am getting transfered :( Sad day. It's always hard leaving. I don't like packing either haha but that doesn't even matter. Hna Sanders doesn't have her visa yet, but President must have gotten revelation that they are going to leav soon. Two companions are coming in to be companions with her. haha can't you just see it now, 3 bikers in skirts biking down the street...and one getting caught by the red light. Haha crazy huh? She is going to be in a trio. Hna Zepeda is telling the whole ward that it takes at least 2 sister missionaries to replace me. ha. Well all 3 peru visa waiters will now by in trios as of tomorrow....so they must be leaving soon. All I know is I'm going to car and graduating again. I thought I'd never go back in a car. So it's weird. I'm having a paradigm shift. I wanted to continue on bike, but I know that God needs me in a new area on car, it's for a great purpose right? :-) That's all I know, I'm leaving North Hollywood.
As I was studying this really impacted me:
Enos 1:12
12 And it came to pass that after I had aprayed and labored with all diligence, the Lord said unto me: I will grant unto thee according to thy bdesires, because of thy faith.
I LOVE THIS! Don't you? I don't know why you would'nt. :-) So I've been praying...being diligent...and have great desires and faith, so I know God according to His will, will grant unto me what I need.
In a 10 second contact in our complex elevator, this made wrote his number down on my planner and said we could teach him. He didn't live in our area, so we sent the referal in. The next morning, he was updated to "teaching." From a 10 second elevator ride, this man now has the opportunity to CHOOSE accordning to the knowledge he will gain. It is a miracle. God knows who is prepared. It was a tender MIRACLE.
Just a thought. We are commanded to follow the prophet. Moses was a prophet. Had the people not followed him, they would have still been in captivity. So if I follow President Monson, I will not be in captivity, but have liberty.
We have been working with a member we found knocking doors that hasn't been to church in about 6 years. He got baptized about 7 or 8 years ago. In this 5 weeks, we worked with him each week. At the beginning he said very firmly NO to going to church. The miracle is that yesterday he went to church and called us his angeles because of how happy he was. He told us, "You've done your job." It is amazing to feel the pleasant peace that comes from the Spirit telling you that God is happy with you. I'll send a picture. He's awesome and even wore a suit!!! :-)
Okay wel lI love you!!! take care. And I'll talk to you on Sunday for mothers day!!! I haven't decided if we'll skype of just call.
Love,
Hna Arguello

I love being a Representative of Jesus Christ.

Hello!

this week was just so GREAT and it ended great on Sunday with stake conference. A bunch of RMs came to visit the mission and came to conference it was crazy to see them. Especially the sisters. They have legs! haha I always see them in skirts....but pants is a different story! Anyway, it was great, and I got to see a bunch of people from my first area! They even remembered me :-) That was great to have bunches of people running at me with hugs. Sweet experience. I saw Yari and Rosa and a whole ton of other people you have no idea who I'm talking about, but that's okay. Anyway, It was a great week. We found a lot of people this week too. We are working really well together! I'm so happy. Can you tell? I hope so.

I'm going to go cut my hair in an hour.

That was random.

On Sat we will find out transfer calls. We'll see what happens. They still don't have their visas. There are 2 spanish sisters coming out...that were unexpected next week. All of us are already trainging. Hna higley, me and Mulliner...are the ones that will finish training this week. They are also implementing now the "Exchange sisters". I have no idea how everything is happening, but it is. I wish you all could be in the excitment on where I'm at. Well I guess you can, go help your missionaries!!!!!!!!!!! ha.

Sorry this is short, I'll end with 2 thoughts. We taught someone for the first time and as he looked at the BOM he said "I've never had a book of mormon before." He looked at the book as if he already knew it was of God. People are prepared. Help the missionaries and give them names. Also, I feel that as members of the church of Christ we don't really understand what we have. Just a thought. okay but that's sad, so to end on a happy note, I know it's all true. Every week I get to sit in a church that was established when Jesus Christ came to earth and established it. It's changed my life.

I love you!
Hna arguello

This is what my Missiong president had to say.....I'm so excited!!!

"As you may know, last week we met with all of the other California mission presidents (and one from Hawaii) to be trained and taught. Elder L. Tom Perry was presiding and was accompanied by Elder Richard J. Maynes (our area supervisor) and his assistants, Elder Marcos Aidukaitis and Elder Gregory Schwitzer. The subject was Missionary Work, no surprise there.

Elder Perry was very clear that we as a Church have entered a new era. There has never before, in the history of the world, been anything like it. He says he daily thanks the Lord that he has one more day to see this all unfold. He talked a bit about the revelation to lower the mission age came to be. The Twelve had approached the First Presidency with the recommendation that the age of Elders be lowered. The First Presidency kept it under advisement for a year before putting it on the agenda for discussion in their weekly Temple meeting with the apostles. The original suggestion to lower the age was for Elders, the First Presidency surprised the Twelve with lowering the age for Sisters, also. Elder Perry testified of the direct revelation to the Prophet on that matter.

Elder Perry repeatedly stated that we are in a new time. That things are different now and that we are privileged to be a part of it. One Mission President who will be released in July, commented how he would give anything he owned to be able to stay two more years. But thanks to the Elders and Sisters who have come before, we have the strength and foundation to enter this new era. We are all standing on the shoulders of giants."

"As Sister Hall mentioned in her letter last week, we received some wonderful instruction from the Mission Presidents Seminar with Elder L. Tom Perry. There is no question in my mind that the Lord is preparing more of His children to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ as He hastens His work. At this point it looks like we will be receiving 20 new missionaries next week and at least 30 new missionaries in June. That’s 50 new missionaries in the next two months – about 25% of our current mission size! And it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. By the next transfer, we will have at least 100 missionaries participating in the 12 Week Training Program for New Missionaries and possibly more if we are assigned additional new missionaries or if we receive additional missionaries waiting for their visas. We will all need to step up our game to be prepared for this amazing hastening of the work.

I know that each of you have been called by a prophet of God to be a missionary in this unique and wonderful time in the Church. This truly is a new era of the Church, and we have been called to be the Lord’s servants in His vineyard. I am so grateful for the opportunity to work side by side with each one of you and am so very thankful for your diligence and faith.

We love you!

President and Sister Hall"

FOTOS! we had mormon helping hand and we cleaned the L.A. river. I found a lot of things...one of which was a toaster. BBQ. People from my old area.

As instruments of God, we can affect generations.

Hello!

We had zone conference last wed...and some big things happening. July last year(2012) we had 28 sister missionaries in our mission. This coming July(2013) they are expecting and planing for 90 sister missionaries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OKay maybe you all don't get home neat that is. Just picutre me jumping up and down saying that. Okay not really. That's weird. BUT kinda not kidding. That is ao awesome! I love elders, but I love sister missionaries, don't you?? I'm so excited for our mission. Also, they are now having Mission training meetings instead of leadership meeting (those where where the elders in leadership positions would go to a meeting ever month...like zone leader, district leaders...etc.). Oh it was a great conference!
I was blown away with all the sisters that will be and could be coming in! That is just so exciting I couldn't help smiling the whole time hearing about it.

I have really been studying about the BOM and in it. There is true power from God there. I think my heros are those that burried their weapons of rebellion in alma 23-26. They would not break their covenant to fight. The missionaries taught them, and they were truly converted. Those that are truly converted will never fall away. WHat a promise. So they burried their weapons in the ground and covenanted with God never to fight again and keep their swords "bright". Later we read that their enemies came to attack and kill them, but those converted left their swords in the ground and prayed. They knew they would be ging to meet their Maker in a few moments. It would have been easy for them  to justify and say "God you know I need to protect my family so please forgive me and understand that I have to break the covenant I made with you." But they didn't. They were firm. Many were slaughtered, but those killing them had mercy and their hearts were changed. Many of them were converted because of it. I was thinking about our covenants. Do we justify?
I look up to them so much. They were willing to die for their God. Would we?

ALSO GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yaritza, (18 years old) my recent convert from El Camino Real (My first area), has decided to go on a MISSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is preparing to go in sept. (A year after her baptism). MY heart was so full to hear her news. What we do as instruments of the Lord affects more than one person every time we teach. What we do affects generations.

The missionaries that baptized mom will never know that because of that, I am serving a mission. How grateful I am for missionaries and the power of God. I know Yari will be a powerful missionary,
Study simple doctrine deeply. This is what we need to do. I was thinking about it. Seriously, think about. Enough with the "deep doctrine" :-) We need to get the basics. President Hinckely said that no matter how many times you read the BOM prayerfully, you will feel the spirit of God. Who doesn't want revelation?

Alma 26:22
22 Yea, he that arepenteth and exerciseth faith, and bringeth forth good bworks, and prayeth continually without ceasing—unto such it is given to know the cmysteries of God; yea, unto such it shall be dgiven to ereveal things which never have been revealed; yea, and it shall be given unto such to bring thousands of souls to repentance, even as it has been given unto us to bring these our brethren to repentance.

I love you all!!

I love La Conferencia General!

Wow!

What a great weekend to a great week!! I was sooo excited for conference!!! At the very end though hna Zepeda said :It's you last one as a missionary" Boom I got really sad and then had to focus again. I had much revelation to what I need to work on and who I need to become. I love that the Spirit brings things to my mind and heart so that I can understand so much more. I had the more powerful revelation about why I was on my mission.

I'll let you in on a little piece of that. Before my mission I knew what I wanted and what I needed. I thought that I was going to have a pretty good and happy life. I was doing what I was supposed to be doing, I knew what I wanted to do with my life, I knew how I wanted to raise my family and so on. Anyway during one of the talkes, I had such a strong feeling and revelation about my life had I not come to serve my mission.
There is a talk from years ago that is that you can always have "good, better, or best." During the Conference I knew that without my mission and the enlightenment and understanding gained here, I would have had a "better" life. God's thoughts are always higher than our own thoughts even if we don't believe it at times. God wanted me to have the "best" life, so he answered a weak and willing Daughter's prayer to know whether or not to go on a mission. I felt that lvoe of God more powerfully than I had receiving that revelation knowing that my Father in Heaven wanted to give me EVEN more than what He has already given me. I was overwhelmed with those thoughts and so much more. I want the "best" and I know that God knows best....so all I need to do is follow Him. It all makes sense really. President Monson, a Prophet called of God, spoke on obedience. This life is the test os OBEDIENCE. I get it. Do you get it?

I have learned so much about agency as well. It all comed down to obedience. We choose, liberty and life, or captivity and death. It's not I choosing to steal or not to steal. Those are the consequences. I know that all the was said during the Conference is true and we just have to change continuously one step at a time to better ourselves so we can have the "best."

Any meeting we have is pointless if nothing changes after it. So Conference was great, but we can't just put the notes away in the bookshelf and not study the words or change. Changes and improvement need to be made. Will I change because of what I learned at Conference? I hope so. Will you?
I loved sooo many talk...but obviously we all loved Elder Hollands. Wow that was amazing. Seriously, we just have to believe or have a desire to believe.

Keep believing, keep loving, and keep loving God. For those whom love God, keep the commandments.

Love,
Hna Arguello

People are waiting.

Hello!

This week we had two unique instances that I actually have never had before on my mission. The week before we we knocking and found 2 potentials. We were going to go back the next week. WE had to really work hard for them to even say we could come back haha. Anyway, when we went back and talked to both of them, both had said they had been waiting for us and what we had to share. How neat is that. I've never heard that. I know that there are people waiting to have the knowledge that we have. We need to open our mouths even when we don't want to and share the gospel. They are our brothers and sisters. Don't we want to see all of them happy after this life? Yes I COMPLETLY understand how we all have our agency...sometimes it gives me a headache, but we need to do our part.

I was thinking that if we want future generations and our generations to stay active in church, we must hold FHE.
If we have desires to "see" we must, repent, walk uprightly, don't give into peer pressure, humble ourselves, bow down in mighty prayer, have faith, and do it with a sincerity of heart. (DyC 5:24) I want all the revelation I can get. Don't you? I think many people don't believe in God...or they believe in just a "higher power," but I know that if we want to know God, we have to pray and ask if he really does exsist. I know He does. I knew He answers prayers. I know that He will give us trials BECAUSE He loves us. I know at times we may think "If there was a God this wouldn't have happened." No That's WRONG. THere is a God and either "it" happened because of our own agency or because He wants to test us. I pray we all pass the test of obedience. This test of life. Living the gospel isn't hard. We just make it that way. I don't think anything good came easy.

I love that even though I was sick all weekend with a migraine (rude huh) God gave me the peace and assurance that no one was going to not find the gospel just because I had to get better. Good to know.

1nephi 19:9

9 And the world, because of their iniquity, shall judge him to be a thing of naught; wherefore they scourge him, and he suffereth it; and they smite him, and he suffereth it. Yea, theyaspit upon him, and he suffereth it, because of his loving bkindness and his clong-suffering towards the children of men.

Think about what He did for you.
Christ died for you. No one else did.

I love you all. Did you know? :-) Good because I do!

Love,
Hna Arguello

I am so grateful to know that Christ lived a life in a way that I know if I do my best to follow in His footsteps, I will be happy. I know that because he broke the bands of death, I am able to live again in a PERFECT and resurrected body...ad guess what? So can all the people on earth. I know that this is the true church and that Christ leads his church through a Profeta and apostles today. Yesterday I read in "Jesus the Christ" the chapter about when He resurrected. Wow that was powerful and I looked at things like I had never seen them before.  I know that we all fail every day at something because we aren't perfect people, but I can be happy knowing that I can always try harder the next day. I have the faith that God will always forgive us and still love us no matter what we do. It does matter though everything we do here because either we pay for our our sins after this life if we don't repent, or Christ will if we do. To imagine that my Brother died for me is a miracle. That's pure love. I think about my sibilings and think, would I die for them? Would they die for me? No doubt me parents would, but that must be such a great love that He has for us.

I had a dream that I was hugging you dad this week. :-) It was really warm and comforting.

I really like 1 thes. 2

So I'm not trio training! but I'm still training hna Sanders because her visa didn't come.

okay so I was supposed to write an email right now...but then wrote some other things and didn't get to this...but here are the pictures that didn't go through.

I'm all in white because at the activity on Sunday, WE did the plan of salvation. EAch room was a different part of the plan. I sang with 7 elders all dressed in white. WE were the angels sings some really neat songs. Pres. McConkie would have even loved singing in it! :-)

Those two elders are from ecuador and me.so we took an oreo picture! hahaha

From my old area 2 of my investigators are getting baptized next weekend!!!!!! Hno Paez and Yancy!!! I couldn't be happier. Hna Redondo is holding down the fort up there like I knew she would. She is trio training. AH! haha okay super sad I can't go to the baptism, but it's okay they did it!!!!!! Seriously so happy!

The napkin was a funny story....but you just have to guess.

I love you all more than you love me :-)

3/25/13

15 of the 25 missionaries coming today are sisters!

Oh yes!! Things are great because even more sisters are coming out to help forward the Lords work...and faster :-) That's how it's done. Kidding, but really. I'm super estoked! This is going to be short because we have to go bike around to find an apartment to move into tomorrow. Yeah I know right. I live almost in the "armpit" of the mission but not quite. Haha anyway, I love it and here we go. I'll probably write a long one tomorrow. To make up the time which he said was fine to do.

But just so you know, we are waiting for training calls. I could be training 2 at once....but I don't think so. I could be higley's comp again is both of our trainees get their visas mid transfer. Sorry this is all very confusing to explain.

Either way I love you all and hope you are happy. Good to know I got readmitted to byui though haha. great. I love

DyC 112:10. Try it.
1Ne16:1-4

Everything is crazy here....yet it's never been more exciting!

I'll tell you about hna redondo tomorrow she came down for exchanges with Zepeda and I got to see her!!

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MUAH!

Fotos we were all in my apt and I realized I had been comps with every one there so we took a picture...minus the picture taker...how was higley's trainee

3/18/13

I got another splinter

HIYA!

Door shouldn't be made out of wood....or that gated metal stuff you know. HAHA. Well though there are pros and cons to knocking, the pros outweigh the cons by a long shot, and it's AWESOME.

Here's what President had to say if you care to read.
Dear Sisters and Elders of the Great California San Fernando Mission,

It has been so good to visit with many of you during interviews last week! I can’t wait to visit with the rest of you this week. I really enjoy spending a few moments with each one of you. These are the first interviews that we have had since Elder Don R. Clarke visited our mission. I have been so impressed as I have listened to the five goals that each of you wrote on the index cards and how working towards those goals has influenced your missions. I would say that the one thing that has impressed me most during these interviews is how much many of you have progressed. It has been so wonderful to see the progress that you are experiencing and how your faith is growing. I have also enjoyed hearing how many of you are truly developing a “Love to Find” as you love the people more and more. Thank you for all your efforts and dedication to be exceptional missionaries. I know the Lord is blessing you greatly and I can see it as we talk during the interviews.

I think it so important that we become exceptional missionaries now. While there are many reasons, including most importantly our purpose to bring souls unto Christ, another reason has to do with impacts from hastening the work. As the number of missionaries in our great mission continues to grow, we have a great need for exceptional trainers. This upcoming transfer we will have 25 new missionaries – 5 English speaking sisters, 7 Spanish speaking sisters, 10 English speaking elders and 3 Spanish speaking elders – two sisters from temple square, and I have not heard yet from the missionary department about missionaries waiting for visas! This is on top of the 26 of you that were asked to train last transfer! The Lord is truly hastening His work! So the need for exceptional trainer is great and many of you will be asked to train. Please prepare yourselves and pray for the new missionaries and for those who will be asked to train that we may all become truly exceptional missionaries who love the people!

I do love each and every one of you! I am grateful for your faithful service, your dedicated obedience and your love of the people. I know that the Lord will bless us all as we work together to help hasten His work in bringing souls unto Christ.

We love you all very much and pray daily for your safety and success,

President and Sister Hall

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I don't know what's happening yet if hna sanders will have her visa, but we'll see.

Oh parents, did you get hna Zepeda's letter? it was like in jan for new years of something...?

I've had so many spiritual experiences this week and I can't fit it all in here, but know that if we really want spiritualy experiences, all we have to do is ask for them. I they are the spiritual experiences that I will always remember in my life...rather than the birthday's or the swim meets or soccer games. Natural I remember some, but it is the spiritual lessons you never forget.

LOVE THIS TALK. Here's a quote:

"If we sincerely desire and strive to measure up to the high expectations of our Heavenly Father, He will ensure that we receive all the help we need, whether it be comforting, strengthening, or chastening. If we are open to it, needed correction will come in many forms and from many sources. It may come in the course of our prayers as God speaks to our mind and heart through the Holy Ghost (see D&C 8:2). It may come in the form of prayers that are answered no or differently than we had expected. Chastening may come as we study the scriptures and are reminded of deficiencies, disobedience, or simply matters neglected. It is a diligent, devoted effort on our part that calls forth this empowering and enabling grace, an effort that certainly includes submission to God’s chastening hand and sincere, unqualified repentance. Let us pray for His love-inspired correction."

Last week we had exchanges, which was inspired, and president's interveiws. It's been a week to truly remember.

May God bless you all.
Love,
Hna Arguello
